Ariane Chemin (France) *1962
Ariane Chemin is a writer and reporter for the newspaper Le Monde. In 2021, she published A la recherche de Milan Kundera (In Search of Milan Kundera), a portrait of a writer torn between two languages and two countries. Although she was not able to meet the author of The Unbearable Lightness of Being, who is "omnipresently absent" from this story, she was able to talk on the phone with Vera, the writer's wife, as well as with some key witnesses. The author also had access to Kundera's file at the StB, the Czechoslovak secret police. At the Prague Book Fair, she will trace the life of this major literary figure.

Ariane Chemin est écrivaine et grand reporter au journal Le Monde. En 2021, elle publie en France A la recherche de Milan Kundera, où elle livre le portrait d’un écrivain déchiré entre deux langues et deux patries. S’il ne lui a pas été possible de rencontrer l’auteur de L’insoutenable légèreté de l’être, « absent omniprésent » de ce récit, elle a pu échanger au téléphone avec Véra, la compagne de l’écrivain ainsi qu’avec certains témoins clés. L’autrice a aussi eu accès au dossier de Kundera à la StB, la police secrète tchécoslovaque. Au Salon du livre de Prague, elle retracera le parcours de cette figure majeure de la littérature.
