Guest of the book fair
Elena Buixaderas was born in Spain. Since 1996 she works as a scientist at the Physics Institute of the Czech Republic’s Academy of Sciences. She translates contemporary Czech authors into Spanish, among other Radka Denemarková, Jiří Kratochvil or Jan Němec. Her main sphere of interest, however, is poetry. Besides having authored three poetry volumes herself, she has translated texts by the likes of Viola Fischerová, Zbyněk Hejda, Petr Borkovec or Jaromír Typlt. Elena Buixaderas is also to be credited with the anthology featuring seventeen contemporary Czech female poets, published bilingually by the Mexican-Spanish publishing house Vaso Roto.
