Ulrike Guérot is a German political scientist and journalist whose books are seen as milestones in the contemporary debate about the future of the European Union. She is the founder of the European Democracy Lab in Berlin and professor and head of the European Politics and Democracy Research at the University for Continuing Education in Krems (since 2016). For many years Ulrike Guérot has been advocating the concept of a European republic. In her essay What is a nation? she focuses on the emergence of a European nation and aims to establish a new connection between the terms “nation” and “Europe”, which are often perceived as opposites. The book is published by Prostor in Petr Dvořáček’s translation.
