Davide Enia was born in Palermo in 1974. He is a writer, director, and performer in both theatre and radio. He has received numerous theatre and literary awards, including the Premio Ubu, the Premio E.T.I., and the Premio Mondello. His first novel, Come in cielo, così in terra (As in Heaven, So on Earth), has been translated into more than twenty languages. In April he presented his Autoportrait (Autoritratto) at Divadlo Komedie in Prague. The work received two of Italy’s most prestigious theatre awards, the Premio Ubu, last year—for Best New Italian Play and Best Actor. When he is not touring in Italy or across Europe, he lives in Palermo, where he enjoys cooking and playing football as a right winger, wearing the number 10 jersey.
