Beatrice Salvioni

Beatrice Salvioni was born in Monza in 1995 and studied Modern Philology at the Catholic University of Milan. She later attended the prestigious Scuola Holden. From the very beginning of her studies, she stood out for her talent and, at a remarkably young age, was published by the renowned Italian publishing house Einaudi. Her debut novel, Dareba, was published in Czech in 2024 in a translation by Alice Flemrová and was met with great acclaim from readers. Foreign rights have been sold in thirty-one countries. The novel tells the story of the friendship between two twelve-year-old girls, Francesca and Maddalena. Set in Fascist Italy in the 1930s, it explores how the girls confront a harsh reality shaped by social prejudice and political oppression. The book can be read as a sequel, but it also stands on its own as an independent story.
