Timothy Snyder

Timothy Snyder is a leading American historian, essayist, and public intellectual specializing in the history of Central and Eastern Europe, the Holocaust, and the dynamics of authoritarianism. A professor at Yale University, he is widely known for influential works such as Bloodlands and On Tyranny, which have been translated into dozens of languages and read worldwide. Frequently invited to comment on democracy, Russia, and Ukraine in international media, he has become one of the most prominent scholarly voices interpreting contemporary geopolitics through historical perspective. Czech readers can find most of his books like Bloodlands or On Tyranny. His lastest book, On Freedom is published by Paseka/Prostor, in Martin Pokorný’s translation.
