Johanna Sebauer

Johanna Sebauer is an Austrian author, born in Vienna and currently living near the Austrian–Hungarian border. Her debut novel Nincshof received the debut prize at the Harbour Front Literature Festival (2023) and was shortlisted for Hamburg’s Book of the Year. 2024, she won the Audience Award at the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize for her short story Das Gurkerl. In her work, she explores topics s of memory, identity, and life on the periphery of contemporary Europe with insight and subtle humor.
