Heiner Lünstedt

Heiner Lünstedt, a journalist and author of books and comics, was born in Hamburg. He writes about comics for the Süddeutsche Zeitung as well as for magazines such as Die Sprechblase and Comixene. Since 2011, he has also served as one of the directors of the Munich Comic Festival. In recognition of his contributions to the field of comics, he received the Comiciade Festival Award in 2018. In 2013, together with illustrator Ingrid Sabisch, he published a comic‑book biography of Willy Brandt. Their second collaboration, Sophie Scholl(2015), was released in Czech translation in 2025 by the publishing house Petrinum.
