Frances Fitzgerald is a globally recognized advocate for equality from Ireland with over 20 years of parliamentary experience. She has held top government roles, including Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister), Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation, Minister for Justice & Equality, and Ireland’s first Minister for Children & Youth Affairs. From 2019 to 2024, she served as an MEP, where she played a key role in economic policy, gender equality, and development. She co-led the EU Directive on Violence Against Women, which led to her appointment to the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Committee. In 2021, she was elected Vice Chair of the EPP Group, and in 2024, she became the first ambassador for Ruhama, supporting women affected by prostitution and sex trafficking.
