Guest of the book fair
Valerio le Martire studied screenwriting and worked at a variety of jobs – a barista, an animator or a babysitter. Currently, he focuses mainly on literature, primarily for young adults. He debuted with a short story collection I ragazzi geisha, which depicts the harsh lives of young male prostitutes on the outskirts of Rome. He also wrote an urban fantasy saga Nephilim (2014–2016, Nefilim). So far, his most successful work is the novel Stranizza, which was loosely inspired by a true story, also known as the Giarre murder. It received a great response from his audience and in 2024 also won the “Laura Grasso” Literary Award in the “Editi” category. The award is named after an LGBT rights activist from Sardinia.
