                            A young writer in utter command of their craft who grabs hold of the reader with tender fury. They made their debut in 2015 with the novel The House, Marie, the Warehouse, awarded the Bodil og Jørgen Munch-Christensen’s Prize in 2016. Eika made a major splash when they were awarded the prestigious 2019 Nordic Council Literature Prize for short story collection After the Sun. Eika’s divisive acceptance speech went viral. The book was longlisted for Booker Prize in 2022. After the Sun is a groundbreaking piece of world literature, with notable releases in Germany, the US and the UK. Eika is the second Danish writer to ever been published by The New Yorker Magazine. In 2024, their new novel Open Heavenswas nominated for the Danish Critics’ Prize and Politiken’s Literature Prize.
