Lukáš Onderčanin

The Slovak journalist has been working for several years at the daily SME as a foreign policy editor. He was born in Moravia, but grew up under the Low Tatras. He studied journalism in Bratislava and in Poland. He has worked as an editor of the MONO.sk platform and is currently the editor-in-chief of the quarterly magazine Príbehy 20. storočia [Stories of the 20th Century]He has been nominated for the Journalism Award several times and in 2021 he won the Open Society Award for his reportage on media freedom in Hungary. The historical-documentary novel or reportage book Utópia v Leninovej záhrade: Československá komúna Interhel  [Utopia in Lenin's Garden: the Czechoslovak Commune of Interhelpo] is his book debut.
