Juan Pablo Bertazza was born in Buenos Aires and has been living in the Czech Republic since 2019. He completed his PhD thesis on Argentine literature related to the Czech world at Palacký University in Olomouc. He works for Radio Prague International and teaches Spanish at the New PORG school. In 2013, he was invited to the International Poetry Festival in Trois-Rivières, Canada, and in 2017, he received a grant as part of the Prague City of Literature (UNESCO) project for his first novel translated into Czech as Pražský syndrom (Novela Bohemica, 2019). He is also the author of a book of poems En el umbral de Praga and will now be launching his new novel High in the Sky: The Story of the Disappeared Golem (Novela Bohemica, 2023), about the tumultuous life of Katka, the protagonist of Prague Syndrome, in Buenos Aires.
