Guest of the book fair
Laura Chivite was born in Pamplona in 1995. She studied comparative literature in Granada, specialising in the connection between literature and film. She currently lives in Madrid, where she has taken two master’s degrees and works, among other things, as a teacher. Gente que ríe (Laughing People) is her first book, with which she won the Ojo Crítico literary prize for young writers awarded by the National Radio of Spain. According to the jury’s decision, Laura Chivite deserves the prize “for being a new voice with a surprising literary technique, as demonstrated in her first book, a volume of short stories full of discoveries, which opens new paths in Spanish literature”.
