Alexis "Matz" Nolent

Nolent spent his childhood in Martinique and grew up in Paris. In 1990, he published his first album Bayou Joey, and in 1993, he published his comic Peines perdues. Under his name, he published the novels Résidence surveillée and La Nuit du vigile (2011). He follows two parallel career paths, writing video game scripts and writing comic book scripts at nights under the pseudonym “Matz”. The best known of these comics is The Killer (Le Tueur), a series that has already reached 13 albums (The core of the series is represented by five volumes. The first three volumes have already been published, and the last two of them will be published by the same publishing house, CREW, in 2024.), has been translated into twelve languages and in San Diego, it has been nominated twice for the Will Eisner Comic Industry Award in the category of The Best U.S. Edition of International Material. Together with François Guérif, he conceived and directed the Rivages/Casterman/Noir series of comic book adaptations of famous mysteries, noir novels and thrillers.
