Joëlle Jolivet is a French illustrator. She studied graphic design at the Duperré School of Applied Arts in Paris and lithography at the Beaux-Arts de Paris. For many years, she cooperated with the artists Fani Marceau and Jean-Luc Fromental. With documentary precision, her illustrations, most often realized using linocut, combine humour and simplicity. More than fifty publications with her illustrations have been published and many have been translated into other languages. She has also illustrated many novel covers. Fromental’s book 365 Penguins, which she has illustrated, won an award. Her portfolio includes costume design, fairy tales, Shakespearean stories, educational titles and books for children and young people.
