Roberto Ampuero

Roberto Ampuero is one of Chile’s most widely read writers. His works have been translated into fifteen languages, including Czech (The Neruda Case, 2014). He lived in Cuba, Germany, Sweden and Mexico and currently resides both in his native Chile and in the United States. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Havana and his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Iowa. He is a graduate of the prestigious writing residency International Writing Workshop (IWP) at the University of Iowa, a professor at the Universidad San Sebastián in Chile and a visiting professor at the Universidad Finis Terrae in Chile. He also served as Ambassador to Mexico and Spain and directed the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 2018–2019.
