Guest of the book fair
This German philosopher, writer and journalist spent her childhood on her parents’ organic farm in Kosel, Northern Germany. In her book Revolution for Life (Revolution für das Leben), she outlines a vision of a future society and attempts to formulate a comprehensive philosophy of new forms of protest. The book analyses contemporary protest movements, such as Black Lives Matter and Fridays for the Future from a philosophical perspective. It shows the destructive power of capitalism, which turns living nature into dead matter in the name of profit and ownership. In response, the author outlines a new alternative: care instead of control and regeneration and sharing instead of exploitation. The Philosophie Magazin calls her “one of the most interesting young philosophers in the country”. The Czech translation of her book Revolution for Life is published by Karolinum.
