Guest of the book fair
Judith Hermann studied German, philosophy and journalism, and her debut, Summerhouse, Later (1998) became a bestseller. The author herself says she wrote this book as Judith, not as a writer. Arguably one of (the greatest challenges of her career was being invited to Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt in the spring of 2023 as part of famous lectures of writers on their work. The result was the novel Wir hätten uns alles gesagt, a book that was not originally intended to be a book. A book that tells of the untold and captures the author’s attitude to life in a poetic way. The novel will be published by the Větrné mlýny publishing house in a Czech translation by Petr Štědron under the title We Would Have Told Each Other Everything.
