Guest of the book fair
Gian Marco Griffi grew up in the village of Montemagno in the Monferrato region. He studied philosophy at the University of Turin and now works as a director of a golf club in Asti, where he lives. He has been writing short stories since he was a young man, but his literary work was for a long time unjustly escaping the attention of readers and professional critics. His short story collection Inciampi was published by Arkadia in 2019. His real success came with the novel Ferrovie del Messico (the Czech translation entitled Železnice Mexika will be published by Meridione in 2025), which soon became a literary sensation, was voted the Book of the Year by the Fahrenheit radio broadcast, won the Mastercard Letteratura Award and the Maria La Cava Award and was shortlisted for the prestigious Strega Prize.
