Guest of the book fair
Stefan Kisjov is known to the Bulgarian readers for his eight novels and a number of short stories. His theatre play Glarusi was performed in the theatres of the Bulgarian cities of Blagoevgrad and Ruse. The film Warm November, based on his short stories, won the prize for the best Bulgarian film at the Filmini International Short Film Festival (2012). In 2004, with his novel Ekzekutor (Czech translation by Naďa Aljanabiová), he became the first writer who won the Bulgarian Novel of the Year national competition organized by the Viк (Scream) Foundation. In his latest novel, The Biographer, the author does not betray his qualities as a skilled storyteller, for which several generations of readers have liked him – tight and dynamic language, natural dialogues, unexpected plot twists.
