Siarhiej Shupa (Сяргей Шупа) is a polyglot, translator and journalist. He graduated from the University of Foreign Languages in Minsk, lived and worked in Vilnius in the 1990s and has been working for Radio Free Europe in Prague since 1997 with a short break. He translated the works of G. Orwell, E.A. Poe, L. Darrell, G. De Maupassant, M. Jergović, G.G. Marquez and many others. In 1998 he edited the Archives of the People’s Republic of Belarus and wrote the book The Road to the BLR (Падарожжа ў БНР, 2018). Siarhiej Shupa is the winner of the Ales Adamovich Literary Prize for journalism and the Carlos Cherman Award for the best translation book of the year.
