Anka Upala (Анка Упала), real name Alena Kazlova (Алена Казлова), is a Belarusian writer and translator from English, Swedish and Finnish, editor-in-chief of the women’s publishing house Pflaumbaum, founded by the nobelist Svetlana Alexijevich. She has published a book of short prose and poems The Entolyptus Tree (Дрэва Энталіпт, 2012) and an autobiographical novel On a Snowy Island (На заснежаны востраў, 2017) about her time spent in Sweden. The novel was shortlisted for the most prestigious Belarusian literary award of Jerzy Giedroyce and a sample of it was published by Plav magazine translated into Czech.
