Aljaxandr Lukashuk (Аляксандар Лукашук), long-time director of the Belarusian service of Radio Free Europe. He co-founded the Institute of Memory Mortirologist of Belarus and in 1990–95 he was a member of the Commission of the Supreme Council of Belarus in matters of victims of political repression. Author of several popular books on the history of Belarus in the 20th century and hundreds of articles and interviews on the political situation in Belarus in the American and European media. He has written screenplays for several documentaries. Winner of the František Bahushevich International Prize of the Belarusian PEN Club.
