Taras Prokhasko is a contemporary Ukrainian author of essays and fiction, journalist, a leading representative of the “Stanislaviv phenomenon” and laureate of several prestigious awards. He debuted in the legendary underground magazine Thursday (Четвер), which he co-edited in 1992–1994. His most significant works of literature include the collections of prose Anna’s Other Days, The Lexicon of Mysterious Teachings, the novel Different Ones and a collection of various forms of prose entitled Enough There for Several Short Stories 396. In 2010 a collection was published summing up his works under the title Soitgoes. Between 2013–2017 he co-authored, together with illustrator Mariana Prochasko, an acclaimed tetralogy of children’s books on the adventures of a family of moles: Who Will Make the Snow, Where Has the Sea Gone, Getting to Know Goats and Life and Snow. His works have been translated into Polish, Russian, Czech, Slovak and English and have won several literary accolades.
