Aljaxej Znatkevich (Аляксей Знаткевіч) graduated from the University of Foreign Languages in Minsk and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He started as a journalist at the BelaPAN agency in Minsk, then in the online magazine Transitions Online and then moved to Radio Free Europe where he is the editor of a number of multimedia projects. He contributed articles on the Belarusian mass media to the Polls Apart magazine, published by the British Institute for War and Peace Reporting. With his translation, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey, he was shortlisted for the Carlos Sherman’s Translation Prize in 2018.
